Description
Who do you “assess” every day? Patients? Their family members? Teammates?
The person in the mirror? How do you gain the insight needed (into other people and yourself) to do your best work without burning out or suffering compassion fatigue? Attend this unique training to discover how ongoing self-assessment can make all the difference.
AFTER THIS WEBINAR YOU’LL BE ABLE TO:
Examine how staff’s political beliefs and differing beliefs of patients/families can interfere with the care provided
Differentiate between moral distress and vicarious trauma
Understand the importance of continual personal and professional self-assessment at work
Explore how critical thinking skills can be used to remain grounded
Identify four cognitive behavioral therapy techniques staff can use on themselves to remain consistent in their work
Describe two mindfulness techniques that can be employed
WEBINAR DETAILS
End-of-life care is not like flipping hamburgers at McDonald’s and it never can be. Hospice caregivers are there to assist people who are suffering and what they do should never just be “routine.” Experiences such as burnout, compassion fatigue, moral distress, and even upset in personal lives can diminish care at the bedside. The task at hand is to assist each and every person to have “their best possible end-of-life experience” and that can’t happen when the caregiver themself becomes an obstacle. This webinar will take a deep and potentially difficult look at engaging in personal and professional insight on a regular basis to ensure staff are “more today than they were yesterday.” It will also explore helping teams self-assess how to function more effectively.
THIS WEBINAR WILL BENEFIT THE FOLLOWING AGENCIES:
Hospice
