Critical thinking is the art and science behind the provision of the best possible end-of-life care. Part of this process is continually asking “Is this really true?”. In end-of-life care, staff want to help people who are suffering and who frequently ask questions with no definitive answer. “Can my husband hear me?” “Why did my husband die after I left the room? I promised him I would be at his side.”
In attempting to provide comfort, “hospice urban myths” have evolved over the years. These myths have been passed along so many times that they begin to feel as if they are actually true, when in fact, that is often not the case. This webinar will look at many of these myths and whether they are really true. It will explore better ways to support people when life events feel unfair or hopeless.
