This presentation dives into the challenges of Medicare hospice patient transfers and the impact other providers have on the ability to bill and get paid. Medicare has not given providers a clear method of disputing the inability to process claims when the prior hospice chooses not to bill. The discussion analyzes what actions can be taken to prevent non covered days on transfer patients.

1.  Discuss the Medicare Hospice Transfer Requirements to be compliant for billing.

2.  Identify what questions to ask to know what risk might arise with any transfer patient.
