When the Only Appropriate Response is Presence
At the end of life, there are moments when words, tasks, and solutions are not required. Sometimes your willingness to be present is most needed. This interactive session explores the meaning and practice of intentional bedside presence and the unique role hospice volunteers can play in creating a sense of connection, safety, and dignity for patients and families. Through reflection, discussion, and experiential exercises, participants will consider how to move beyond “doing” and develop a deeper capacity for simply being with another person during one of life’s most profound experiences.
Presenter: Kimberly Wamba, PhD, President, CEO Doula Care specialist with Sacred Life Care Initiative
